The world may be a dreary, dreadful, and dangerous place to venture into. There may be cut-throat competition in which survival of the mean, cunning, and bully only is possible. It may not be a place for gentle, honest, and kind person like you. It is full of murderers, criminals, rapists, and swindlers. They are ready to snatch away the loaf of bread from your hand. You need a sanctuary from them. You need a place where there is love and care, understanding and compassion, give and take. You need somebody who could guide and protect you. You need somebody who could be equal partner in your joys and sorrows. You need somebody upon whom you could shower your love and care. You need a home and a family.

Parents sacrifice a lot and endure great hardships in up-bringing their children. They are selfless in their love and can even lay their lives for the protection of their children. A spouse is a life time partner in your days of sunshine and rain. Brothers and sisters are your friends and supporters. Your children are your life time fans who love you unconditionally. The love, care, and support of family is a great happiness. Blessed is the person who has got a family. And who amongst us has not got one? But we take family for granted. We don't recognize it as a great source of happiness. The more happiness you give to your family the more you extract out of it.

You are born into a family and grow up within a family. A family not only provides comfort, enjoyment, and security, but it also gives emotional and spiritual bliss. In fact, one may find so much happiness within family that he or she may not need to search it outside it. The love and care of mother and father, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, wife or husband sustain us. Though love is one and the same yet the love of each is so different too. A family may extend beyond these immediate relations and may include grand parents, grand children, in-laws, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Can all the money of the world buy the love and affection of one's parents? Can one be happy without them? How much enjoyment and happiness they add to our life? Similar is the case with brothers and sisters. At a later stage of life husband or wife becomes practically the sole arbiter of our happiness. Man or woman's happiness nearly entirely depends on his or her spouse. At a still later stage sons and daughters become a great source of happiness. Bertrand Russell said, 'I have found the happiness of parenthood greater than any other that I have experienced.' Family relations give happiness, but at the same time to be a relation also gives happiness. It is happiness unlimited to be a son, a brother, a sister, a father, a mother, a husband, and a wife.

When you kiss your child, don't you get a kiss in return?

When you hug your sister, don't you get a hug in return?

When you love your spouse, don't you get love in return?

Weight Control Through Diet and Conditioning

Controlling weight is one of the most important aspects of wrestling. Placing one's self in the proper weight class is very important. Maintaining the control of your weight is even more important. This is true because weight fluctuation is not good for the body.

When a wrestler goes through period of excessive weight loss and weight gain he may create problems for himself in the future. Because of the continual opening and closing of fat cells, which exists during weight fluctuation, we find that fat cells become larger, stronger, and more resistant to closing. This makes them more receptive to fat deposits. Weight control, then becomes much more difficult. The constant fluctuation also contributes to an unstable metabolism and creates a greater chance of fouling up the body's complex metabolic mechanism, and possibly leading to other serious problems. Therefore, it is essential that wrestlers learn to control their weight not only for competitive reasons but for health reasons as well.

Of course it's no fun watching other people eat anything and everything they want while you sit back and starve yourself. Well, the diet program that is being suggested in this program allows you to be filled and yet lose your weight at the same time. You ask how can that be true? Well, it is and here's how.

The body, when in use, burns up carbohydrates or sugar. The carbohydrates are used before the fat tissue which is stored up in your body and is used. When you begin vigorous exercise as you do in wrestling, you tend to burn up the carbohydrates and some of the fat tissues as a result of increasing your body's need for an energy supply. If you increase your exercise and not your sugar intake, then you will begin to lose some of your body fat because you are using your reserves. The result is loss of weight.

The whole process is very easy. All you have to remember is to decrease your sugar or carbohydrate intake and increase your activity level and burn up your fat reserves.

Remember, this concept is like a car with a gas tank. The faster you drive (more work you do) the faster and more gas you will burn in the tank. If you increase your workout and decrease the amount of fuel you will have to rely on your reserve fuels. This will cause you to lose weight.

The benefit for the wrestler is that if he/she eats fewer carbohydrates for a short period of time they will generate the need for the body to switch over to excess weight and not have to starve to lose weight for competition.

Old House Remodeling - Removing Old Tile and Glue

When you live in old house like I do, remodeling is always a challenge and a surprise. I am currently involved in a major kitchen remodel. Our kitchen like many kitchens, has seen better days. It was installed in the house was built back in 1945 and I'm sure it's has served its previous owners well. However, modern kitchens are large and open. This kitchen, like most kitchens of its era, a small enclosed off. We decided to open the kitchen out by removing part of the wall, removing old tile from the walls, and updating the entire kitchen with new cabinets and appliances.

Our first surprise came when we moved the refrigerator from its current location. The refrigerator sat up on a platform about 1 inch off the kitchen floor. We never gave it much thought and assumed that it had always been like that. When I move the refrigerator and lifted up the old flooring, I discovered why. Plumbing from the sink did not go through the floor to join a drain pipe in the basement. It did, however, run across the floor and under the refrigerator. This required some major engineering to move the drain line for the new sink and dishwasher.

Surprise number two was the ceramic tile on the walls. The ceramic tile wound up not being ceramic tile at all! It was tin tile that was glued to a masonite backing board. The backing board was itself glued to the plaster walls and nailed every eight to 10 inches. So while the tiles came down very easily using just a screwdriver, getting they masonite backing board off the plaster was a nightmare. Not only were the plaster walls full of holes from the nails, big globs of glue was smeared all over the walls. At first I tried sanding. All that did was create a cloud of dust. After two hours of creating dust clouds I had only managed in clearing off a 2' x 2' square area. I talked to a number of contractors who only shook their heads and offered me luck in removing the glue from the walls. Someone suggested I use glue remover but I didn't want the fumes in the house. Someone else suggested a strong scraper but I wasn't strong enough to remove this glue. Finally, someone suggested a heat gun. I was skeptical. How would a little heat gun remove 60 years of hard and glue? Much to my surprise, it worked! Now it didn't work easily. It was still a lot of hard work, but by working slowly, and steadily, I was able to remove all remnants of glue in about four days.

I hope this tip and technique helps you if you ever encounter a similar situation. I know what I first started removing the glue from the wall, I would get discouraged thinking it would never end. However, by working slowly and steadily, I managed to get a little bit done each and every hour. I took frequent breaks, and went outside for a breather every couple of hours. It didn't help that I was doing this in the middle of summer when the temperature was in the 90s. However with perseverance, this task can be finished easily. And if you do it yourself, you'll save all the money that you would pay contractor to do the exact same thing.

Another thing you can do to overcome your fear of talking on the phone is to roleplay - find a friend and ask him or her to practice a phone conversation with you. Make sure that this friend understands the details of the situation, so that they can be as realistic a conversational partner as they are able to. After the phone conversation, ask yourself what you could have done better, and write down a couple of words. Then, ask your friend for feedback, and write down that too, and then practice it again.

But finally, in the end, the human mind is a funny thing - it doesn't work with rational reasoning, especially when you have to deal with such a thing as a phone phobia. That is why you might consider hypnosis to get rid of your fear of talking on the phone.

Top 5 Ways to Reduce Problem Behavior in Children With Autism

If you have a child who has behavior outbursts, it can leave you desperate for things to try to stop the behavior or reduce its intensity. As a behavior specialist, I have learned many reactive strategies that help to reduce behavior if it is already occurring. Without giving you too much technical terms about ABC data, finding functions of behavior, and setting up a behavior intervention plan, (which you should have a behavior therapist do), here are 5 strategies/consequences you can try when you are in the heat of the moment:

1. Ignore the Behavior. Please know that this means you are not to verbalize the behavior that is happening. If your child is doing something dangerous to himself or others, you obviously have to intervene but you still do not have to draw attention to the actual behavior. This strategy only works if you know that your child is doing this behavior to get attention, even if the attention is negative. You don't want to reinforce inappropriate behavior, so ignore and then also try a strategy below.

2. Redirection. If your child is a acting out, verbally or physically, it is important to redirect her to another task or activity. Instead of focusing on the behavior, focus on what you want her to do next.

3. Decrease Demands. Sometimes, your child becomes frustrated with the task at hand and does not know how to ask for help, so instead, he acts out. Lower the demands that are placed on him. This can include lowering the amount of time he has to be on task before he gets a break. You may just have him work for one more minute. Decrease the number of questions or offer assistance to complete the task together.

4. Decrease Stimulation. Often with children with sensory processing disorders, the environment or setting can be causing your child to demonstrate behaviors. If the setting is too loud, has too many people, too many pictures, or is too lit up or too dark, it may be overstimulating for her. Use headphones, a preferred electronic device like an iPhone or iPad to distract her, or simply take a walk outside or to a quieter location. This may help you get through a trip to a restaurant, family party, supermarket, or store.

5. Use a Calming Down Protocol. It is very important to try to help your child self-regulate and calm down before the behavior escalates to a dangerous situation. Teach him how to take deep breaths, fold his hands to avoid hitting/punching, count to a designated number, close his eyes, go for a walk, etc. You can also try some sensory integration in your protocol like deep pressure or light scratching on the arms if your child is calmed by this.

Pros and Cons of Using Disposable Tableware

When planning for a party there is always the question of what kind of tableware should be used. This is especially true when planning for a baby shower party where the opinion of the new mother-to-be is critical.

There are really some who will not object to using disposable forks and spoons for baby shower tableware and then there are those who are adamantly against it. Here are some pros and cons to using disposable tableware.

Pros One - It is really easy to clean up after a party or event if all the tableware is disposable. Once all the guests have left, the one left cleaning after the place has to gather all the evidence of the party and make everything tidy once more. If all the baby shower tableware is disposable a simple swipe of the hand directing all these into the waiting black bag cuts the cleanup time to less than half. Otherwise, a lot of time consuming dish washing could be involved.

Two - If the party has a theme or even a color scheme, it is often possible to find tableware that matches this exact theme and thus enhances the decorations for the event. Two - Disposable tableware is not sized properly and some are either too small and others too large. It is also harder to eat with plastic utensils than regular forks and spoons. Plastic knives don't cut as well as metal knives either. Paper plates can be too thin for some types of greasy foods, which can result in a mess if they leak through.

Three - The worst thing that can happen is that when eating with these disposables, they could break while still in the mouth. Some of the tines of the forks can even get lost in a cake and if one is not careful they could be eaten by a child or an adult.

But don't let the cons scare away the idea of using disposable tableware for a party. If one is really stressed out and cleanup is an issue, then go for it.

However, if there are kids around, then an adult should take charge of the little kids who don't know how to eat properly yet. Also, it is best for one or two adults to be vigilant over the kids come eating time. They have a tendency to run around with a fork in hand when they get too excited over something.
